The Ampersand Inn Policies

PLANNING YOUR STAY:

  1. General Liability Waiver:
    Each guest is required to read and sign a waiver & release of liability for illness/accidents emanating from alcohol consumption on premises, use of bicycles, massage therapy, and possible exposure to Covid 19.
  2. Check-in & Check-Out:
    Check-in: 3–7 PM; Check-out: 11 AM Early Check In and Late Check Out:  Due to the premium we place on outstanding housekeeping services, early check-ins and late check-out are generally not available; please speak with the Ampersand’s Owner, Irene Dorzback, should you require a check-in or check-out accommodation due to your travel circumstances.
  3. Dietary Accommodations:
    Please contact us to let us know your dietary needs a week in advance of your visit so that we can plan our shopping accordingly.
  4. Personal Toiletries:
    In order to reduce our use of plastic and waste of unused hygiene products, we provide personal products to those who request them upon arrival.  Please plan to bring your toiletries with you, yet know that we’ve got you covered in case you forget! Call or stop by the office!
  5. Scheduling a massage:
    There are 30, 60, and 90 minute massage therapy appointments available. Please indicate your interest with your reservation (see Packages) or contact the Inn to assist with scheduling.
  6. Cancellations:
    There is no fee for cancellations made more than seven days from the date of the reservation. Covid-related cancellations will be rescheduled to another date within one year of cancellation.  Cancellations made within seven (7) days of your visit will be handled on an individual basis, based on our ability to rebook the room. If we are unable to rebook, guests should be prepared to pay a “less than seven (7) days” cancellation fee of $50.
  7. Rates:
    Room rates are based on two (2) guests in a room and include a three course breakfast. A charge of $40 per extra guest will be charged for more than two guests in a room, with the exception of Wallerstein. Weekday corporate travel rates are available upon request.  National holidays that fall on weekdays are charged at the weekend rate.
  8. Payments:
    A credit card is requested to hold a reservation; final payments are made upon arrival and can be made by credit card or cash. In the case of full Inn rentals, a 50% deposit is made by check and final payment is made by credit card.
  9. Age Minimum:
    The Inn is designed for rest and relaxation; therefore, no children under 12 may stay overnight unless they are part of a full-Inn rental (weddings, family reunions, etc.).
  10. Pets:
    Pets are not permitted; however, Trained Service Animals continually in the presence of the guest they are servicing are welcome. Guests with service animals are asked to provide written certifications for trained service animals.
  11. Electric Vehicle Chargers:
    Guests should notify the Ampersand if they wish to reserve an EV charger; upon arrival, a guest utilizing the EV charger should leave his/her contact phone in case of emergency.
  12. Covid-19:
    The State of New Jersey and the CDC recommend that unvaccinated guests wear face coverings while in common areas and practice social distancing when outside one’s room or in the pool area. Unvaccinated friends/relatives of Ampersand guests should meet at a location outside of the Inn property. We reserve the right to request a Guest Temperature Check upon arrival. Refer to State of New Jersey Covid 19 web site for current guidelines.
  13. Group Use of the Inn:
    Group events that involve five or more rooms for weddings, family gatherings, class reunions, etc.,  require the rental of either the Main House (seven rooms) or the entire Inn in order to ensure the peaceful stay of other guests.

DURING YOUR STAY

Safety:

      1. The use of candles, cooking or heating implements in guest rooms is prohibited.
      2. The Inn is smoke-free. There are two designated smoking areas: Outside the Carriage House (chairs and an ashtray are provided); and in the field on the lower level of the property; There is no smoking in the pool area.
      3. Fireplaces should be turned off when the room is not occupied.
      4. Swimming is at a guest’s own risk; no diving is permitted. All music played in the pool area must be listened to with headphones out of consideration for other guests.  This consideration applies whether or not one is alone on the patio as guests may feel discouraged from pool use due to excessive noise.
      5. Weapons, including those used for hunting, may NOT be on the premises.
      6. Drugs, including marijuana, used for non-medicinal purposes are prohibited. Those who violate this policy will be required to leave the premises (no refund available).  Any special needs should be discussed with the owner.
    Our Environment!

        1. Room Freshening: We provide additional towels and tidy the rooms for stays fewer than three days; however, we do not change linens daily. Please let us know your cleaning needs during breakfast.
        2. Recycling: We recycle glass/bottles/cardboard separately from general waste. Please make your best effort not to co-mingle your garbage. Blue bins are provided in all guest rooms to assist with recycling.
        3. Septic Care: The Inn uses septic systems and pumps – please do not flush wipes and personal products.

      A minimum $500 damage, repair, or smoking fee will be added to your bill if these policies are violated.
