The Ampersand Inn Receives the New Business Award from the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership
Whether seeking a peaceful escape, a chance to reconnect, or the perfect blend of relaxation and activity, the Ampersand Inn offers an unparalleled retreat. Behind this extraordinary establishment is owner Irene Dorzback, a business leader who goes above and beyond for her guests and community. Every guest receives a charity gift card, funded by Irene, enabling them to choose a cause they’re passionate about, which has resulted in more than $26,000 donated to nonprofits. Her generosity doesn’t stop there. Irene consistently supports local fundraisers, offering free nights to nonprofit leaders to reward their teams, and donates food and hygiene products to the Weekend Bag Program, as well as teen gifts to Project Self-Sufficiency’s Holiday Shop. She also provides free meeting space for nonprofits and showcases local artists’ work throughout the inn, giving these artists a platform to reach new audiences. Irene’s commitment to service extends to offering generous discounts to first responders, military members, veterans, teachers, nonprofits, and more. In a unique tribute to those who have made an impact, Irene names rooms after notable guests or community members, sharing their stories both online and in the rooms themselves.
Looking to the future, Irene is planning an exciting new venture: beginning in summer 2025, pending township approval, she hopes to transform her barn into a space for “arts afternoons” open to the public. This will provide a platform for local musicians and artists to perform and display their work on three acres of the property, further solidifying the Ampersand Inn’s role as a cornerstone of our community. We are proud to honor Irene Dorzback and The Ampersand Inn for her remarkable contributions, and we eagerly anticipate her continued success and community impact.”
